Happy Turkey Day Everyone!

Wow…things have been super busy over here in our neck of Northcrest! We are in the midst of a major overhaul of the basement. Our dream of both a workshop in the backroom and full service tiki bar in the front is finally coming to fruition. Without giving too much away, we converted some original Northcrest kitchen cabinets that were slated to be wasted and sent to the dump, into a full on workbench. It just shocks me to see interiors of our homes wiped clean of any true mid century personality. However, tons of storage for tools and so forth is now all ours! Now we can boast of two original kitchens!

The front room of the basement is quickly being converted into the third incarnation of our beloved Wiki Wiki Room. Below is a quick preview, so stay tuned and we will have a full on story of the process. We have always envisioned the front basement room as a place to escape; this dream is becoming more and more real on a daily basis.

Also, Home Sweet Split Level has taken another step out into the virtual world. We are now on Twitter and you can follow us here: HomeSweetSplitLevel. In celebration of this, we are going to be having our own little “Black Friday” giveaway this Friday. So make sure to check back in order to get all the details!

Not only have things been busy at the house, but Jordan's fattycakes is taking off. This past weekend was the annual Indie Craft Experience's Holiday Show. This has become an annual event for her and fattycakes now. Thanks to everyone that came out and supported us and all the amazing crafters that were there. Make sure to head over to the new fattycakes website to see where she will be next!

So, that is it for now. We just want to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving and you can read all about my feelings towards it HERE. This year, there is a lot going on our lives. Life sometimes just gets out of control no matter what you do. So take sometime this year and think about your true friends, your family, and all that you hold dear when you sit down at the dinner table tomorrow. Life is so quick, and there are going to be those tough times. In order to mitigate thses periods, I think it helps to remind yourself of the real people who support you no matter what, to be as unselfish as you can, and remember and value all your wonderful memories of people and great times.
Happy Thanksgiving 2010 Everyone!
