As you can tell, they are painted and covered with carpet. This has blurred many of the classic lines maintained by the stairs.
This style of stairs is a common expression of Mid-Century Modern architecture. So, the plan of attack is to first rip off all carpet from the stairs. Then, iron elements are going to recieve a new black gloss paint job and finally, all stairs are going to be stripped of paint and refinished to a natural state. Below are pictures that influenced our thoughts on taking on the stairs:
Once Jordan has released me from major painting duty, the stairs are first on the list. Keep an eye out and see the progression. Feel free to pass along and suggestions or pictures you have come across that might help in this effort!
